1st sweetening facility of SP phases 22-24 ready to operate
The first gas sweetening facility in phases 22, 23 and 24 of the giant South Pars Gas Field has come online and is ready to intake sour gas from the field, said the operator for phases’ development plan.
The operation of the first refinery facility has already ended and it is ready to do sweetening gas injected from phases 6, 7 and 8, FarhadIzadjoo noted. He added, “The operation includes a gas intake unit, a flare unit, utility units (including an instrument air system, and steam and nitrogen generators), dehydration and desalination units, process units (including gas sweetening and glycol dehydration), as well as a gas compressor unit.”
The sweetening operation would start by this March once the required sour gas supplied from phases 6, 7 and 8. The sweetening unit has a capacity of 12.5 million cubic meters per day and can transmit gas to Iran national gas grid.
It is scheduled all four sweetening facilities of the phases’ refinery to come on stream by the end of the next Iranian year (ending March, 2019).
Once operational, the plan will add 56.6 million cubic meters of rich gas, 75,000 barrels of gas condensates and 400 tons of sulfur on a daily basis to South Pars Gas Field’s output. Also, one million tons of liquid gas and one million tons of ethane per year will be added to the field’s capacity.
