SP13; utilization of environmental units
ASSALUYEH – all environmental units for phase13 are in operation now.

Industrial wastewater treatment units have been completed and operational while complying with environmental requirements by the efforts of all groups involved in the project. HSE manager of phase13, KouroshEmadi, was quoted by public relations sayings.

Industrial wastewater treatment unit consists of refining oily, sanitary, and chemical wastewater. Oily wastewater refining part is the most significant part which is operational now. By entering oily wastewater received from upstream units, oil and water are thoroughly separated in floating and separation packages with the capacity of each 80 MCM per hour.

After ensuring that the produced wastewater is standardized, the oil is sent to off-spec for retreatment then to outfall pipeline.

Chemical wastewater treatment part has been designed and performed to neutralize acid and alkaline as well as to set their PH which has been completed and put into operation with the capacity of 5 MCM per hour.
Emadi pointed out to sanitary wastewater, adding that this part is aerobic and is placed in the service after the deployment of staff in non-industrial buildings.

In order to receive and process sour gas from offshore facilities, the first train of sulfur recovery unit for phase13 was operated last month. Thus, all environmental units came to operation prior to introduction of gas from the sea.

It is worth mentioning that these units have been set up along with the refinery and its plans being implementedto reduce and prevent environmental pollution in the operation cycle.
