Iran to boost production capacity from South Pars gas field
TEHRAN – having operated the two recently installed platforms belonging to phases 22-24 along with the 3rd platform of phase 14, Iran would break a new record in gas production from South Pars shared field.

At present, Iran is producing 630 million cubic meters a day from South Pars gas field. It would increase up to 680 million cubic meters as new platforms were put into operation. Managing director of POGC, Mohammad Meshkinfam, was quoted by public relations as saying.

Meshkinfam emphasized that one of the major goals of Pars Oil and Gas Company in current year is to achieve the program approved by Oil Ministry. This program, which includes the completion of offshore sector of phases 13, 14, 22-24, is ongoing with a systematic planning.

Referring to the latest installations, he continued the two platforms called 23 and 24B will start working soon after hookup and commissioning operations putting an additional 28 mcm (1 billion cubic feet) on daily production capacity. Thegas produced from these two platforms is injected to national grid.

Managing director also assessed the executive activities of phase 14 as suitable saying that platform 14B is now ready to generate sour gas from the tank. It was installed on its location in July and will be operational as soon as 5 kilometer inter-refinery pipeline which connects phase 14 to phase12 ended.The inter-refinery pipeline is about to come to service in two weeks.

Iran Marine Industrial Company (Sadra) has been in charge of constructing 10 platforms. Among which 7 platforms have been installed in Persian Gulf. The remaining 3 platforms would have been installed until the end of Iranian current year (March 20, 2020).
