South Pars Gas Output at Record High

Gas production from South Pars gas field stands at 290 million cubic meters per day, the highest level since starting gas extraction from the field.

Managing director of the Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), Mousa Souri, made the remarks adding average daily gas production from the field reached 240 million cubic meters per day this Iranian calendar year.

Speaking to Shana reporter, Mr. Souri added during the recent cold days, daily gas production from the field went up reaching 290 million cubic meters per day, 8 million cubic meters above the POGC’s undertaking.

‘Maximum gas draw from the South Pars phases 6-8, completion of 23 gas wells at the phases 9 and 10 and rising gas production from phase 1 are the main factors behind rising gas production from the gas field’ the official noted.

Gas draw from the field will rise to 350 million cubic meters per day in next Iranian year that begins 20th March, POGC’s managing director said adding the volume could be raised up to 380 million cubic meters per day.

He also predicted South Pars’ gas production to rise to 454 million cubic meters per day following full exploitation from the new phases including phases 12, 15-16 and 17-18.

Earlier this week POGC’s managing director said that three gas processing plants would come online in Assaluyeh (onshore installations of the South Pars gas field) as of the beginning of the second half of next Iranian year to process gas produced by five South Pars phases.

‘Next Iranian calendar year will be one of the most brilliant years in Iran’s oil industry history’, POGC’s managing director said adding the three gas processing plants will process  gas produced in South Pars gas field’s phases 12, 15, 16, 17 and 18.
